Finally, I am going to start blogging. Mostly for myself, so I can see what's going on with my life and what I thought during a certain day. You're more than welcome to read and comment on my blogs. Here's a little bit about me in case I get followers that barely know me or don't know me at all.
My name is Isaac and I am 25 years old. I love writing, I love sports and eventually I want to become a sportswriter. My life consists of nothing really exciting to be honest. If I were to die tomorrow, I have not really accomplished anything significant. I definitely don't want to sound blah, but I think a lot of people leave this place without leaving a legacy. I like to think of life in a sports type of way.
Sports have the Hall of Fame after you retire, and athletes ultimate goals are to win championships and then get named into the Hall of Fame. Myy question to myself and to you is "Will I get into the "life" Hall of Fame?" Have I hit homeruns during my tenure here? Have I hit game winning hits during my career? Have I been a leader in the clubhouse? To be honest with you, my strikeout to homerun ratio is pretty crappy. I was talking to someone about this and they said, "damn, I'm just lucky I'm in the ballgame!" Lucky is not what came to mind, we all get to be in this game of life, we all have a chance to go up to bat, and most of us either swing and miss, or even worse, not even swing and get called out on strikes. Then, as an athlete, one thing that can cause your career to end prematurely is injury and then it's over at times. What if you keep leaving everything in life for tomorrow and you die one day?
I hope I still have time to save my career and begin taking more chances even if I fail at times, it's alright. I have already begun. 3 people come into my "sports" type of mind. Derek Jeter, Brett Favre, and Michael Jordan. Derek Jeter has struck out over 1,500 times during his career, Brett Favre has thrown over 300 interceptions and Michael Jordan missed over 12,000 shots. NO ONE will remember those numbers when remembering these athletes. With them it's 3 Hall of Famers, and 12 Championships. And ulimtately, those numbers I just put up are high, but they are high because they tried throughout their careers. What I am trying to say is, get into God's Hall of Fame and you will be happy and in peace.
Love,
Isaac
Hey! I'm your first follower and fan. Lol. I like this blog a lot, although I'm bad at keeping up with blogs I'll try and read it every now and then to see the progress I know you will make in God's Hall of Fame. You reminded me of Hebrews 11 where God's Hall of Fame is kind of written out as He talks about people in the Bible who have left a legacy. :-)
